What is the Parent & Family Fund?
The Parent and Family Fund is an annual fundraising effort that has established a tradition of parent and family support at UCF. Every year the support from over 2,000 families help to create and enhance quality student programs and services. This fund ensures UCF’s academic excellence when programs require more funding than state funds and student fees allow.
It is through the generous support of UCF parents and families that we are able to provide the tools for lifelong growth and success for every student at UCF.
What does the Parent & Family Fund support?
The Parent and Family Fund provides vital financial support to enhance academic experiences within and beyond the classroom. It enriches the entire student body through supporting Creed Grants, green initiatives, facility improvements as well as areas of greatest need across campus. Virtually every aspect of academic and extracurricular experiences can be impacted by the Parent and Family Fund including:
· The “Study” Union: Support from the Parent and Family Fund helps to keep the Student Union open 24 hours-a-day during exam weeks. In addition to remaining open, expanded tutoring sessions, late night snacks and quiet study space are provided.
· The Career Resources Center: Support from the Parent and Family Fund helped to build a brand new on-campus facility to assist students in preparation for internships and career opportunities.
· UCF Library Renovations: The Parent and Family Fund provided support for the second floor library renovation, revamping the traditional library setting into a cyber café, with state-of-the-art workstations and group study rooms.
· The Knights Helping Knights Pantry: This on-campus student-run pantry helps support UCF students in economic crisis. By providing resources and services including food, hygiene products, supplies and much more, the pantry supports student success at UCF.
· Creed Grants: The Parent and Family Fund supports numerous other grants each year that follow the university creed and benefit current UCF students.
