The UCF Foundation office will be closed Monday, December 20, 2021, through Sunday, January 2, 2022. The UCF Foundation reopens on Monday, January 3, 2022, with the last day of the calendar year falling on Friday, December 31, 2021.

Requests for Payment Processing

Due to the December holidays, all requests for payments (payment authorization forms with appropriate backup and signatures) must be received in the Foundation Accounting office no later than noon, Tuesday, December 14, 2021, for checks to be processed by Friday, December 17, 2021; this will be the final check run for the calendar year. All normal cut-off schedules will resume Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

Gift Receipt Processing

Below are procedures developed in accordance with IRS regulations to enable an accurate and timely calendar year-end cut-off so that we may appropriately account for all transactions. As with all philanthropic gifts, to ensure contributions qualify for a calendar year deduction for IRS purposes, donors are recommended to consult with their personal financial representative or tax advisor.

* Hand-delivered cash or checks:
Hand-delivered cash or checks should be brought to the UCF Foundation front desk no later than 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 31, 2021, for the gift to be processed in the 2021 calendar year. Members of the Records and Gifts team will be in the office on December 31st until noon. Please note: Members of the UCF Foundation team will also be in the office from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on December 27th, 30th and 31st if you need to drop off cash or checks.

* Mailed cash or checks:
Mailed cash or checks for gift receipting must be postmarked on or before December 31, 2021, for the gift to be processed in the 2021 calendar year. For audit purposes, the postmarked envelope must accompany the gift to process for the 2021 calendar year. Please bring all checks related to year-end on a separate deposit transmittal form to the Records & Gifts office no later than 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

* Credit card gifts:
It is recommended that credit card transactions be processed directly through the Foundation’s website, https://foundation.ucf.edu/givenow no later than noon, Friday, December 31, 2021.

* Gifts of stock or mutual funds:
A donation of stock or mutual funds is made when the stock is registered in the Foundation’s name. Please reach out to Joseph Mera at 407-882-1233 or [email protected], as the assistance of a development officer is needed for these types of gifts.

For all other calendar year 2021 gift issues or circumstances prior to December 31, please contact the UCF Foundation main office at 407-882-1220. This number will be monitored regularly throughout the closure.
